Texture 2019 Lucky Well Chardonnay

Texture 2019 Lucky Well Chardonnay
Named for the aquifer that made viticulture possible, Lucky Well sits atop the Harrison Grade in Occidental, above the fog line with eastern exposure and sandy Goldridge soils that allow slow, even ripening. Heavy May rains in 2019 brought lighter yields, lending the vintage extra richness and concentration, with the low-yielding Hudson clone driving pure, focused flavors and pronounced minerality. The result echoes the structure of great Chablis with a California accent.

Winemaker Notes

Planted by legendary West Sonoma County grower and my old friend, Ulysses Valdez, Lucky Well will always be a special place for me. The Chardonnay from here is second to none for those seeking crisp, structured wine that expresses place.
