Moon Mountain Vineyard has proven itself a paradise for Syrah, and for the first time, our tribute to Rhône Valley winemaking tradition puts this celebrated variety front and center. Our Dynamite Block is a west-facing site near the mountain’s summit that bathes in summertime heat, driving explosive fruit flavors. Lower on the mountain, two additional Syrah blocks are sheltered away near the winery. Shielded from the afternoon sun by the volcanic ridge above, these vines express earthy notes far different from their Dynamite siblings. Bolstered and brightened by savory Mourvédre and rich Grenache, these blocks exhibit the elegance that has defined the revered blends of the northern Rhône for generations.
