Repris 2017 Cabernet Franc

Cabernet Franc is notoriously the most tem- peramental of the Bordeaux varieties. With too much heat the grape sacrifices its acidity, yet without enough warmth and sunlight, it fails to ripen. Moon Mountain Vineyard’s location is perfectly suited for this balancing act with ample daytime heat and tempered by cool evening breezes blowing in from the Pacific Ocean. No vintage in recent memory satisfied Cabernet Franc’s particular demands better than 2017, and as the final bins of fruit arrived in late September it was clear our Cabernet Franc would continue to enhance its reputation as one of Repris’ most prized bottlings.
